Rebecca Heiser

Instructional Designer

Rebecca embeds learning concepts and theories to design high-quality academic programs. She provides leadership and effectively communicates to leverage best practice strategies and techniques for online and hybrid courses.

Prior to joining Penn State, Rebecca worked in both corporate and non-profit sectors in eLearning for software professionals and K–12 educators. She completed her master’s degree in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and focused her studies in professional development models for utilizing effective data assessments and evaluations for online supportive structures and activities. Rebecca is passionate about building, facilitating, and implementing online learning environments founded on data analysis that remain sustainable for adult learners.

When she’s not connected to the Internet, Rebecca enjoys traveling the world, tending to her garden, laughing with her sister, spending time outdoors with her boyfriend and their dog, completing items on her to-do list, cooking for her family and friends, making candles, and eating spicy foods.
